300 m large-calibre rifle (free rifle)

Weapon: permitted are large-calibre rifles (multiloaders are only allowed to be used as single loaders) up to a <link glossary>calibre of 8 mm, the rifle weight including sighting device, hand stop and palm rest may not exceed 8 kg, triggers of any kind.<link glossary>Ammunition: <link glossary>Centrefire cartridges in calibres of up to 8 mmTargets: Diameter of the 10 = 100 mm, ring distance = 50 mm eachDistance: 300 mAiming position: Three positions – one third each of the shooting task, prone, standing and kneelingProgrammes:
a) Three positions 120 shots, of these 40 shots in 75 minutes prone, 40 shots in 105 minutes standing and 40 shots in 90 minutes kneeling, including trial shots, with electronic visual display 40 shots in 45 minutes prone, 40 shots in 75 minutes standing and 40 shots in 60 minutes kneeling, including trial shots (see rule 1.70 of the sport regulations),
b) Prone position: 60 shots within an overall shooting period of 105 minutes, including trial shots, with electronic visual display 75 minutes (see rule 1.90 of the sport regulations), women are shooting with a rifle of 6.5 kg in weight. Comment: In prone and kneeling position the aid of a sling is allowed, in kneeling position also a kneeling roll may be put under the arch of the foot.In addition to the discipline 300 m large-calibre rifle (free rifle), there is also the discipline <link glossary>300 m large-calibre rifle (standard rifle).Source: <link glossary>German Shooting Federation
